Position Title: Student Intern - Environmental Services (Summer 2024)

Position Purpose:
This temporary position assists with the functions of the Environmental Services Department, including but not limited to compliance and permitting.
Essential Functions:
Assist the with updating substation and facility Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
Assist with document filing and retention of files.
Assist with the coordination of documentation and updating of environmental processes and procedures as part of the Environmental Management Plan.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year degree program in biology, geology, archeology, an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering program, or environmental related field related program with at least one year completed.
Minimum of a 2.5 grade point average (GPA).
Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication and strategic planning skills.
Valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures, and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. The incumbent uses small hand tools and testing equipment. Occasional travel may be required.
Wage : $19 - $22 per hour
