Position Title: Student Intern - Draftsperson (Summer 2024)

Position Purpose:
This temporary position will provide introductory drafting services and support for electrical engineering and “as built” drawings.
Essentials Functions:
Verify redlines of modifications per drafting standards at Basin Electric.
Provide drafting services and support for assigned electrical engineering drawings.
Assist with electrical engineering "as built" drawing revisions.
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age.
Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year drafting and design technology, engineering technology, computer aided drafting, pre-engineering, or related program with at least one year completed.
Minimum 2.5 grade point average.
Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
A valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
This position requires constant standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, reaching above and below shoulder level, kneeling, crawling, hand coordination; occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds and the use of a keyboard/computer. This position also requires finger dexterity, good hearing, and color vision. It also requires the ability to analyze data/reports and conduct research; implement recommendations; develop plans, procedures, and goals; and present information to others. The incumbent may be required to work under pressure due to conflicting priorities and deadlines. This position occasionally may work in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat/cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, and confined areas. Must be able to travel, either by operating a motor vehicle or traveling by Cooperative or commercial plane. Equipment operated includes computers, telecommunication devices and test equipment, as needed.
Wage : $20 per hour
